Celebrate the holidays with these Christmas tree spritz cookies from Frisco Style

Servings: 6 dozen

INGREDIENTS

• 1 cup(s) shortening
• 3/4 cup(s) sugar
• 1 egg
• 2 1/4 cup(s) flour
• 1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
• 1/4 teaspoon(s) baking powder
• 1 teaspoon(s) almond extract
• green food coloring
• 1 package(s) sugar pearls
• 1 tube(s) white icing optional

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 400F.
2. Cream together shortening and sugar. Add egg and beat well.
3. Combine with flour, salt and baking powder. Add extract and food coloring.
4. Press dough through cookie press using tree disk. For ornaments, decorate trees with tiny, colorful sugar pearls. Bake 8 minutes.
5. Add white icing for tinsel, if desired.
