Get Artsy This Summer
By Michael Rogers

Frisco Arts has served as the bridge between the city of Frisco and the artistic talent within it since 1996. Formed by citizens and business leaders of the city, the organization’s main mission is to advance the arts and creativity of Frisco by preserving its cultural identity.

Since 2004, Frisco Arts and the City of Frisco have used public funding to encourage the work of the artistic community. Through accessible programming, city grants and private scholarships, the organization is the official arts agency of the City of Frisco. Though fully-funded and operated through private donations, Frisco Arts caters to education, exposure and appreciation for the creativity of many talented individuals within the community. 27 programs, ranging from band and choir to theatre, photography and film production, provide excitement and opportunities for many local creatives. This gives people a chance to shine and share their unique craft with the public.

This summer, do not miss the Frisco Arts Summer Kickoff at Double Dip Frozen Custard (June 5, 4-8 p.m.). Kids can sing karaoke and enjoy food and fun. For more information on what is coming up with the Frisco Arts this summer, visit their website (www.friscoarts.org), where you will find the FrisGO Arts Calendar, complete with descriptions about all upcoming arts events.
